South Australia
South Australia is known for its wine regions, but also has a diverse landscape with arid desert range formations, and coastlines along the Great Australian Bight. Many colonial homesteads still stand within the rural regions, dating back to the grazier expansion from the early 19th Century. The fertile lands soon dry out in the Ikara-Flinders range, that is subjected to flash flooding and droughts. As the settlers soon discovered over the decades.
